After working in the field of mental health and human services for over 15 years what I realized in managing effective mental health is that communication is key. I need to know what you're feeling, experiencing and what you're looking to gain in order to best help you. In turn, I will explain the treatment and what you can expect to gain from it. Having effective communication in any relationship is one of the ingredients to establishing a solid foundation.
Therapy is a tool to help heal, and it comes in many forms. Whether it's learning to manage stress, illness, or simply add balance to your life, the benefits of therapy can be life-changing. We would be honored to take that journey with you. Our services will consist of:

CBT is a talk therapy in a structured way that helps one become aware of inaccurate or negative thinking by challenging situations and learning to respond in a more effective way.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a trauma-focused therapy designed to help people resolve distressing memories, emotions, and body sensations quickly and gently—often in fewer sessions than traditional talk therapy.

Q. How will I know if the Therapist is the right fit for me?
A. I always tell my clients, choosing the right therapist is like choosing the right car. Let's take a test run. Its o.k. to take the first two to three sessions when deciding if the therapist/client partnership is the right fit for you.
Q. What will happen during my first appointment?
A. The goal of the first appointment will be to start getting to know one another and building a rapport. Additional information will be gathered, and therapy goals will be established.
Q. How will I know therapy is working?
A. I always encourage my clients to make SMART goals. Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-Bound, that way progress can be seen and measured. When one starts to see a reduction with active symptoms, eventually elimination, the therapy is working. Just remember overcoming challenging periods in our life, will take time.
